Did Florida just ban the internet? Maybe!
Beginning in April, a new state law shut down internet cafes that had become fronts for internet gambling. But according to a lawsuit filed by one internet cafe owner, the ban on computer gambling was so broad, it could cover every smartphone and computer in the state.
The wording is key: the new regulations defined an illegal slot machine as “any machine or device or system or network of devices that is adapted for use” as a game of chance.
Sure, it sounds like a horrible drafting mistake, but this is Florida. The same Florida that launches these headlines:

Florida Man Charged With DUI After Running Woman Over With Golf Cart
Florida Man Cooks Family Dog
Florida Man Tries To Tow Stolen Lawnmower Away On Back Of Bicycle
Police Find Florida Man Naked, Revving Motorbike In Front Yard

Do we want Florida Man and Florida Woman to have unfettered internet access? Really? Maybe the Florida legislature is being responsible for once.

"The Florida Democratic Party needed someone to run… and if I was willing to do it, they would pay my qualifying fee," Smith said.
Yay democracy!
